OBD2 trouble codes are diagnostic codes used to identify problems with a vehicle. These codes are generated by a vehicle’s on-board computer system and can be read using an OBD2 scanner. Toyota Avalon, Camry, Solara, Echo and Sienna from 1994 to 2009 have some common OBD2 trouble codes such as P0100, P0101, P0102, P0103 and P0104. These codes relate to mass or volumetric air flow circuit malfunction, range/power problem, low input, high input and intermittent problems respectively.
It is important to note that OBD2 codes can be generic or manufacturer specific. If the first two characters of the OBD code are P0, P2, P34-P39, B0, B3, C0, C3, U0 or U3, the problem is generic. If they are P1, P30-P33, B1, B2, C1, C2, U1 or U2 then the problem is manufacturer specific.
I hope this helps.
