To read the fault code without a diagnostic tool, you must
- Locate the diagnostic connector under the steering wheel (left or right, depending on whether the car is a left-hand or right-hand drive).
- Connect wires 4 or 9 with a piece of wire or a paper clip. If not, fuse 46 (15A) in the block under the bonnet will blow.
- When the ignition is switched on (it is not necessary to start), the “CHECK ENGINE” light will start flashing, long flashes – the first digit of the fault number, short flashes – the second digit.
Errors can be read not only for engines but also for other systems. The corresponding bulb on the fuse panel (gearbox, power steering, etc.) flashes.
Llennye blink – dozens, short – units. For example:
Code 50 – 5 long flashes.
Code 15 – 1 long and 5 short flashes.
If there is more than one fault, the codes will flash in sequence (in the order they appear in the system), followed by a long pause.
If there are no faults, the lights will simply go out and not flash.
If you have other error codes, you can visit our special section, which contains all the error codes that can be.
